District 1 House Fire Sends 4 Firefighters to Hospital

The alarm sounded for 3303 Jude Court in the Meadowbrook heights section of Murrysville for reported house fire around 1042 this morning. Ems was quick on the scene reporting heavy smoke showing from the roof. Truck 20 would set up side A  and stretch a line to the front door forcing entry to the house. Asst 201 would head up Jude Court command. 78 Engine was next , stretched 2 CAFS lines (1 ) to the charlie side and one to side A. Attack 64 would secure the water supply to the truck. With all hands operating,  crews worked as interior conditions steadily deteriorated, with limited areas of access,stairwell and hallway areas comprimised, and lots of interior structural damage , crews worked on breaching walls and opening up to stop the stubborn blaze. Asst 201 would request the 2nd and 3rd alarms for manpower bringing several more companies to the scene. 4 firefighters would be transported to West Penn Hospital at Forbes Regional Campus for burns and exhaustion and later be released. Crews operated close to 4 hours.
